Privacy Policy

This policy describes the information collected during a visit, the reasons it may be used, and the limited circumstances in which another party may receive it. Continued use of Bee County Criminal History indicates acceptance of these practices.

Data You Give Us Directly

Search Queries

A name or place entered in a search tool is sent to the outside provider that operates that feature. The provider processes the request under its own systems. Bee County Criminal History does not retain or log those search terms.

Messages and Contact Submissions

A submitted email may remain on file while it is reviewed and answered. It is not disclosed outside the organization unless the law requires that disclosure.

Data We Gather Automatically

When a page loads, standard server records may capture basic technical details about the visit:

  • Page-view dates and times
  • The referring site, when one is reported
  • Browser name and version
  • Device category and operating system
  • Visited pages and time spent on them
  • The device's assigned IP address

Cookies and Analytics

Cookies are small files placed on a device. They help show which pages receive traffic and how visitors move through the site. Analytics services combine that activity into broader reports. A browser can reject cookies, although doing so may change how some features work.

What We Do With This Data

  • Routing a submitted query to the relevant search partner
  • Diagnosing errors and other technical problems
  • Maintaining reliable operation and page speed
  • Understanding which content visitors use
  • Displaying advertising that may reflect visitor interests

No Criminal-Record Data on File

Bee County Criminal History does not keep, compile, or sell a database of personal criminal records. It identifies official routes such as the Bee County Sheriff, county and district clerks, Texas Department of Public Safety, and Texas Public Sex Offender Registry. It is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor information is not assembled into consumer reports or third-party criminal profiles.

Third-Party Search Partners

Outside companies operate the search boxes. Information submitted there is governed by the provider's policy rather than this policy. Each provider chooses its own retention and disclosure practices, so users should review those terms before searching.

Links to Other Websites

Links may lead to Bee County offices, Texas agencies, courts, legal resources, or outside search services. Once a visitor leaves this site, the destination's privacy rules apply. Those rules should be read before personal details are supplied.

Advertising providers may use their own technology to measure activity across websites and select ads. That processing occurs within the provider's systems.

Who Might See Your Data

We do not sell personal data. Some information may end up with:

  • Analytics providers that measure use and site performance
  • Advertising networks serving ads on the pages
  • Search partners processing a query you submit
  • Government or law-enforcement bodies acting under a valid legal order

How We Protect Your Data

Reasonable security measures are used for information within our control. No internet service is completely secure, however, so absolute protection against unauthorized access cannot be guaranteed.

Users Under 18

The site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. Data identified as belonging to a minor will be removed when properly brought to our attention.

Your Data Rights

Rights may vary by residence and applicable law. Texas Government Code Chapters 552 and 411 govern public information and criminal-history dissemination by government custodians, but they do not turn this private site into a records agency. Subject to applicable law, a visitor may:

  • Opt out of certain processing where that right applies
  • Request deletion of covered personal data
  • Seek correction of inaccurate information
  • Ask for access to personal information held about you

Updates to This Policy

This policy may be revised as practices or legal duties change. A revision becomes available on this page with its updated effective date.
